Thunderpick review for UK players

Who runs Thunderpick?

Paloma Media B.V. owns and operates Thunderpick.io. It is a company incorporated under the laws of Curaçao.

The operator is registered in Curaçao. That is why the licence question below runs through the Curaçao Gaming Authority.

Thunderpick sells three things under one account: casino games, sports betting and esports betting. Players can bet on their favourite titles in esports, sports and casino.

Is Thunderpick licensed?

Start with what the casino says. Thunderpick states that it is "licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority to offer games of chance under license number OGL/2024/677/0722". It also describes itself as "protected by the Curacao Gambling License".

Both statements describe a licence that is held. Neither describes an application in progress.

Now the Authority's own register. The line for the operator reads as follows, under the register's own column names:

The licensee is the operator named above, and the licence number is the one Thunderpick cites. The two sources differ on one point. The casino's wording reads as a licence held. The register's status column reads "Assessment in progress", with the Issued and Expires columns showing 4-Dec-25 and 4-Jun-26. We report both as they stand and add no reading of our own to the register line.

Complaints and dispute services

The first step is the casino. Thunderpick's terms set a time limit for reporting a funds transfer problem: "In the event of an error or malfunction in funds transfer, you are under an obligation to inform us within 14 days from the date when an error or malfunction occurred. Any complaints filed after this period will not be considered."

The Gambling Commission's complaints route is for businesses the Commission licenses. It is not the route for a casino licensed in Curaçao.

The Curaçao Gaming Authority publishes a list of certificate holders under article 5.17 of the National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK). These are the Alternative Dispute Resolution services on it, with the names spelled as the register spells them:

Coins and payment methods

Thunderpick is built around crypto. It supports Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, Cardano, Binance Coin, Solana, Tron, Ripple, USDC (via ERC-20 and Solana) and USDT (via ERC-20, TRC-20 and BEP-20).

A second, slightly different list covers deposits and withdrawals: Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin, Binance Coin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether, Ripple and Dogecoin "and more". The casino adds: "we are constantly expanding our cryptocurrency library". Dogecoin appears in the second list only, and Cardano and Solana in the first only.

Beyond coins, the casino names these ways to fund an account:

• Apple Pay, Google Pay, VISA and Mastercard, a card route where players "buy crypto instantly" and have it "automatically transferred to your Thunderpick balance".
• Kinguin and Thunderpick Gift Cards, both deposit methods.
• Skins, which a player can exchange for thundercoins: up to five items per exchange.

Each coin has a minimum and a weekly maximum for withdrawal:

Withdrawals start from "a minimum of EUR10-EUR12 with all cryptos listed". A separate set of general limits is covered under withdrawals below.

Deposits, limits and fees at Thunderpick

Crypto deposits come first at Thunderpick. Most are fast and, in the casino's words, "require minimum to no confirmation". Most deposits are instant, depending on the processing time of the specific cryptocurrency. Kinguin and Thunderpick Gift Card deposits are instant too.

The one deposit minimum the casino sets applies to bonuses, and it is set out under the welcome offer below.

On fees, the casino makes three different statements:

• For Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Dogecoin, Thunderpick says "you never pay transaction fees". It adds: "we do not charge any commission from our customers, both when depositing and withdrawing funds."
• The withdrawal table shows "Free" in its Fee column for each of the nine coins.
• The general terms differ: "In most cases, depending on your jurisdiction, we charge transaction fees for deposits to and withdrawals from your Thunderpick Account." Players are also "responsible for your own bank charges".

Closing an account has its own charge: if the balance is EUR 20 or lower, a closing fee of EUR 20 (or equivalent) applies.

Currency matters for a UK reader. Transactions and bets are always counted and settled in Euro. Players can display balances and bets in other currencies, but "rounding errors and inconsistencies might occur". GBP does not appear in the list of currencies.

Deposits by card

The card route is a purchase of crypto, labelled "Deposit with Credit Card", through Apple Pay, Google Pay, VISA or Mastercard. The crypto bought is then credited to the Thunderpick balance. Card fees fall under the general clause that "fees and charges may apply to customer's deposits and withdrawals, specification of which is presented on the Website".

Withdrawal limits and times

The casino gives three statements on withdrawal times:

• Withdrawals may take up to 24 hours, and the casino says it aims to process them immediately.
• Withdrawal request processing time may take up to 24 hours. The terms add: "We do not guarantee that there will not be any delays in the processing or receipt of deposits or withdrawals."
• The withdrawal table shows a processing time of 5-30 min for each of the nine coins.

These are the casino's own statements, and they describe different things.

Two general limits apply. One is a minimum withdrawal of €10 per transaction (or equivalent), "with the exception of an account closure in which case you may withdraw the full balance". The other is a maximum of 100,000 € per week, "unless otherwise specified". The per-coin weekly maximums in the table above are lower for several coins.

Some checks can come before a payout. The casino may ask for identity documents "prior to granting any withdrawals". Enhanced due diligence may be done in respect of withdrawals of funds not used for wagering, and the casino "reserve[s] the right to decline processing withdrawals" if a player does not comply with such requests.

One clause targets a specific pattern. If the casino suspects a user of "using our service as a mixer", it reserves the right to apply a wagering requirement of at least 5 times the deposit amount.

The casino may also "suspend, block or close your Member Account and withhold funds" when requested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

VIP Club members may get "priority withdrawals".

Verification and account rules at Thunderpick

Age. Registration, opening an account and betting are permitted "only for persons above the age of 18 or of legal age and full legal capacity stipulated by their local law". The casino also reserves the right "to request proof of age documentation from you at any time".

Identity checks. The casino may require a player to validate identity: "If for any reason we require that you validate your identity, you may be required to submit additional information or documentation, such as government issued ID or proof of residency." For withdrawals it lists "copies of a player's passport, national Identity Card, copies of a player's utility bills, and/or copies of the debit/credit cards used to deposit", or other confirmation such as a selfie or verification call. It may ask "at any time during the lifetime of your relationship with us".

Time to respond. If a player does not meet a verification request within 30 days, the casino reserves the right to limit or close the account, remove winnings and charge "a contractual penalty in the amount equal to the full amount of any of your resources on your account".

KYC must be confirmed when registering, and the casino says "we verify each account and transfer".

One account. Thunderpick allows one account: "You are permitted to open only one (1) Account. Only one account is allowed per household." Multiple accounts held by one person are "subject to immediate closure", and the casino may seize funds won through them. A separate clause says multi-accounting can bring "immediate account suspension or closure without notice" and forfeiture of winnings, bonuses or balances.

Dormant accounts. An account is dormant after 12 months without a deposit, a withdrawal or a bet. After the eleventh month the casino emails the registered address to say the balance will be set to zero in thirty days. At 12 months of inactivity the balance is zeroed.

Closing an account. A player closes the account by contacting customer support. A balance above EUR 20 is refunded through the deposit method used. A balance of EUR 20 or less is charged the EUR 20 closing fee.

Termination. The casino may end access at once for "fraudulent, unlawful, dishonest or improper activity", including false information or betting through a third party. In that case "all Account balances (including both deposits and any winnings) shall be forfeited".

Welcome offer and wagering

The welcome offer is worded in three ways:

• One description offers "100% up to €600 on your first deposit", with the code "applied automatically on the page".
• Another reads: "1st Boosted Deposit Bonus 100% up to €600 for betting, up to €2,000 for casino."
• A third gives a 100% deposit bonus where "the maximum amount you can deposit for this is EUR2000 and the rollover requirement is x40". It lists the code WELCOME100.

Taken together: a 100% match on the first deposit, with a €600 ceiling for betting and a €2,000 ceiling for casino. One description gives the €600 figure alone.

The key terms:

• Wagering x40, the rollover the casino gives for the welcome bonus.
• Minimum deposit €20 to activate a deposit bonus, "unless otherwise stated".
• Maximum bet of 20% of the deposited amount per casino wager while a bonus is active, and 50% of the deposited amount per sports wager. This applies "unless stated otherwise on the specific bonus landing pages".
• Eligibility: welcome bonuses are "only made available to newly first time, signed-up customers".

Wagering is "the total amount of bets you must stake before the bonus and any accrued winnings are transferred into your Cash Balance". The x40 figure is the welcome bonus's own rollover. The general bonus rules set how wagering is counted, and "each bonus comes with its own T&Cs that apply on top of general ones". The only other wagering figure, 5 times the deposit, applies to suspected mixer use, covered under withdrawals.

Bonus terms in detail

Game types count towards wagering as follows:

A second statement of the contributions words them differently. It puts Slots, Thunder Spin and Thunder Plinko at 100%, Cards, Poker, Fishing and Crash at 20%, and Video Poker, Casual and Virtual Sports at 10%. ThunderSpin counts 0% in the table above and Thunder Spin counts 100% in the second statement. We show both as the casino writes them.

More rules sit behind the offer:

• Maximum bet: a limit of 20% of the deposit for casino wagers and 50% for sports wagers. Breaking it "may result in account closure, forfeit of the Bonus and any winnings generated during the wagering of the Bonus".
• One bonus per person: bonuses are limited to one per individual, household, civic address, e-mail address, deposit instrument, bank account, telephone number, computer/device and/or IP address.
• Recreational use: "Bonus programs are intended for recreational bettors only." Players the casino judges to be abusing the system may have bonuses revoked, face "increased rollover requirements" or lose bonus privileges, along with any linked accounts.
• No-deposit bonuses: the casino does not allow mixing them with deposits. If a deposit is made while a no-deposit bonus is active, that bonus's wagering requirements and maximum cash-out still apply.

Thunderpick runs a mix of races, giveaways and loyalty rewards. Each item below follows the casino's own description.

ThunderRace

ThunderRace is, in the casino's words, "an original spin-off tournament made by us". Any registered player can take part. The casino sets "the prize pool and the number of winners", and shows them under each race. To take part, a player bets on esports, sports and casino titles. €4,000 Races run every two days.

Ranks and daily giveaways

Players earn a point called RP as they gamble. These rank points set a level, and "there are currently five tiers". Daily giveaways can be entered based on rank, and can pay out "gift cards with free game credits". €8,000 In Giveaways run every week, and daily giveaways run daily.

Monthly Cash Bonus

The "Monthly Cash Bonus" is automatically generated for selected players who have achieved "Silver" tier and above. Monthly gift cards are also offered, where "we reward loyalty".

VIP Club

The VIP Club is for "loyal and high-stakes customers". Players join "via a special invitation". The benefits it names are high betting limits, priority withdrawals, a personal VIP manager and various bonuses.

Referrals and other items

Thunderpick also runs a referral system (Refer a Friend), daily quests, a promotion for adding the brand to a Steam name that runs every 24 hours, and a headline of "€2,000,000 In Prizes". Reload bonuses and special esports quizzes held on its Discord channel are also offered. Cashback/Insurance Bonuses are named among no-deposit bonuses.

Games and providers at Thunderpick

The casino says: "There are over 2000 different games you can play in Thunderpick Casino." That is its own claim and the figure our rating rests on. The games are "divided by Popular, New, Live Casino, Slots, Video Pokers, and so on".

The categories it names are Spin, Crash, Live Casino Games, Slot Games, Blackjack, Poker, Video-Poker, Card Games, Roulette, Lottery, Craps, Baccarat, Bingo, Casual and Game Show.

Its software providers are Evolution, Ezugi, Big Time Gaming, Pragmatic Play, Quickspin, Blueprint Gaming, ELK Studios, Evoplay, Spinomenal and NetEnt.

Slots

The casino gives RTP and Max Win Multiplier figures for individual slots:

The casino states that its "bitcoin live casino has more than 250 live dealer games in total". Blackjack, baccarat, roulette, poker and craps are among them. Around 184 live casino games have demo versions.

Some games are, in the casino's words, "original games created by us". One is exclusive: "you can have a different gambling experience with Thunder Crash." ThunderSpin and Thunder Plinko are also named among its games.

On fairness, the casino states: "Along with blockchain technology, Thunderpick has provably fair games."

Demo play is offered "in various games to our users who have not yet deposited cash". Over 2000 slot games have demo versions.

Sports betting and other products

Beside the casino, Thunderpick runs a sportsbook. The esports markets are CS2, League of Legends, Dota 2 and Valorant. The sports are Soccer, Basketball, American Football and Baseball.

Thunderpick has a Cash Out feature on bets. It lets a customer "take a return on a bet placed before the bet has reached its conclusion". Cash Out is "available on selected events and markets only", and once used, "the final result will then have no impact on the outcome of your bet".

Customer support

Thunderpick states that support is available 24/7. The channels are:

• Email.
• A floating chat button, also called live chat.
• A public chat on the site "where all Thunderpick players can chime in".
• An FAQs centre.

The casino says it "immediately" responds to problems with payments, games or accounts. Its terms are more careful about waiting: "our friendly Customer Service Agents will be ready to assist - wait times can vary".

Playing Thunderpick on mobile

The casino makes two statements on mobile play.

There is no mobile app specific to phones: "Although we do not have a mobile application specific to phones, our web interface is designed to be mobile compatible." Opening the site in a phone browser brings up the mobile interface.

Thunderpick also offers fast access "from iOS, Android, Windows or MacOS" through an installable web app. On Android and iOS with Chrome, that means tapping "More" and then "Install app", or tapping "Share" and then "Add to Home Screen". Safari has its own "Share" step.

The app is advertised with "app-only promotions and bonuses" and notifications.

How Thunderpick compares with other crypto casinos

Across the other casinos we review, stated withdrawal times run from "within minutes" to "within 72 hours of approval". Welcome offer wagering runs from 35x to 45x. Game counts run from 1,000+ to 13,000+. Ratings run from 2.3 to 3.9.

Where Thunderpick does better. Its stated withdrawal ceiling of up to 24 hours is shorter than the longest time stated elsewhere. Its x40 wagering sits in the middle of the range the others state. That range is not like for like: some figures apply to the bonus, others to deposit plus bonus, and Thunderpick's does not say which. Its withdrawal table lists crypto withdrawals as fee-free.

Where it does worse. Its rating of 2.3 is level with the lowest in our range. Its game count of over 2,000 is far below the largest libraries we review. Balances settle in Euro. The register status of its licence reads "Assessment in progress".

Thunderpick's rating is 2.3. It rests on two of six areas: Games, which scores 4 of 5, and Account and safety, which scores 0 of 5. Bonuses, VIP and loyalty, Support and Mobile are not scored. Thunderpick says it can help on request: "Upon your request, we can undertake certain measures to assist you in having better control over your betting habits." Self-exclusion works by contacting the casino. A "cooling period" can be set, and a player with a gambling problem can ask that the account "remain permanently disabled". While self-excluded, log-in, deposit, withdrawal, betting and chat are disabled. A player should withdraw any balance first, and the account cannot be re-enabled "prior to the agreed timeframe".

Gamstop covers sites licensed in Great Britain. Its own words: "When you register with Gamstop Online you'll be blocked from accessing gambling websites and apps licensed in Great Britain." Thunderpick cites a Curaçao licence. A casino licensed elsewhere is never a way around a self-exclusion. Anyone who has self-excluded should stay excluded.
